Despite what the international press has been broadcasting regarding the full recovery of Cuba after Hurricane Irma hit the Island in September, the country has been hard- working on the total restoration of the affected areas, especially those related to tourism and its industry.

As the Ministry of Tourism and the joint- venture hotel companies have established, most of the beach resorts in Varadero and the Northern Cayes of Cayo Santa Maria, Cayo Guillermo, and Cayo Coco should be fully operating as late as the second half of November 2017, by the time the touristic high season starts in the Caribbean nation, while in Havana all hotels are already providing their accommodation services and are able to open armed welcome costumers for season 2017/2018.
